When Spanish designer Miguel Angel Garcia Belmonte started drafting the brand’s first collection back in 2010, he wanted to pay homage to his hometown’s heritage of traditional handmade pottery by revamping long-established techniques and rethinking their common applications.
Helped by his brothers, Miguel created what soon would become not only an international reference of contemporary designs in pottery, but also a tribute to local traditions which date back to medieval times.
Located in the South East part of Spain, Totana benefits from typical Mediterranean climate, perfect for the development of superior, natural clay.
Pott’s earthenware collections are hand-crafted with care and dedication, taking pottery to a new level. Each one displays a well-balanced distribution of flowing forms and symmetries while their matt surface and natural colours blend seamlessly into its environment.
Now with an active retail presence on four continents, Pott has been gaining quickly in popularity since its debut. The brand appeared in several publications of reference such as Design Milk, Design Boom and Vogue and has also been featured on many influential blogs and websites like Design Sponge, Moco Loco and Contemporist. Pott’s creations have been also integrated in the work of well-established designers and architects around the world such as GAD Genome architects in Singapore, MW architects in London and Wiederverwandt interior design agency in Germany.
